John O’Reilly
Head Coach
John O’Reilly has been passionate about coaching from a very young age. His first coaching license was obtained through the Irish FA when he was just 19. Today John holds a UEFA B Licence which has allowed him to gain valuable experience as a coach in both the WA State and NPL Leagues. His time in the WA State League was spent as head coach of Swan United, winning the 2010 Night Series, and then Shamrock Rovers, where he won the state league title in year two of his four year tenure. Naturally John’s success earned him notoriety amongst his peers and it wasn’t long before an opportunity presented itself for him to take on a head coaching role at Armadale Soccer Club within the WA NPL.
Whilst at Armadale Soccer Club John held the Senior Coaching position for a club record of 7 years, which at the time also saw him the longest serving coach at one club in the NPL. During his time there he led the Armadale NPL side to two state cup finals, winning the competition in 2018. Both journeys to the final saw John and his team represent WA in the FFA Cup round of 32 on two occasions. John will go down as one of the most revered coaches in Armadale’s history.
John is set to continue his impactful journey with the Morley Windmills Soccer Club as the Head Coach of the WA State Division 2 team. With a wealth of experience and knowledge, John is dedicated to developing a new playing group into a league-winning side. He joined the Morley Windmills in 2023, taking on the role of head coach for the Premier Amateur Team with the clear objective of achieving promotion. Following an outstanding 2025 season that saw the Windmills secure their place in the WA State League, John is now poised to lead the team in the State Division. His ambition is to climb the league tables, impart his expertise, and make a lasting mark on the state division. With his guidance, the Morley Windmills are excited to embark on this new chapter and continue their pursuit of excellence on the field.
