Joint Senior Coach
John O’Reilly has been passionate about coaching from a very young age. His first coaching license was obtained through the Irish FA when he was just 19. Today John holds a UEFA B Licence which has allowed him to gain valuable experience as a coach in both the WA State and NPL Leagues. His time in the WA State League was spent as head coach of Swan United, winning the 2010 Night Series, and then Shamrock Rovers, where he won the state league title in year two of his four year tenure. Naturally John’s success earned him notoriety amongst his peers and it wasn’t long before an opportunity presented itself for him to take on a head coaching role at Armadale Soccer Club within the WA NPL.
Whilst at Armadale Soccer Club John held the Senior Coaching position for a club record of 7 years, which at the time also saw him the longest serving coach at one club in the NPL. During his time there he led the Armadale NPL side to two state cup finals, winning the competition in 2018. Both journeys to the final saw John and his team represent WA in the FFA Cup round of 32 on two occasions. John will go down as one of the most revered coaches in Armadale’s history.
John now continues his role as Joint Head Coach of the Morley Windmills Soccer Club Amateur Premier Team. Looking to impart his experience and knowledge on a new playing group and develop them into a league winning side.
Dan Evans
Joint Senior Coach
Dan Evans is an A licensed coach with over 25 years of both youth development and semi-pro coaching experience.
Dan has spent years as a contract worker with Football West where he coached regional development teams, talent development squads and led coach education as a certified instructor.
As a first team coach Dan spent time at MUMFC and Swan United where he also founded the academy at MUMFC. In between, he had two stints in the USA where he worked for the Olympic Development Program across two states and coached the Toledo Villa semi-pro team and Lourdes University Women’s program as well as ran two club based academies.
Dan rejoined The Morley Windmills Soccer Club in late 2023 from UWANFC having both coached and played for the club previously in the semi-professional ranks.
Together with his Morley portfolio Dan also spends time in the Peel region as Talent Development Officer and runs a Girls only academy called Galaxy Football.
Looking Ahead to 2025
When asked about the coaching Partnership and the 2025 season Dan Evans said “Working with John has been fantastic, it’s great to be able to share ideas and put both our experiences into the project. I’m very much looking forward to season two in 2025”
On working with Joint Senior Coach, Dan Evans, John said “it’s been really exciting over the last 12 months. We both have different styles of coaching but see football in a very similar way. I have learnt a lot from Dan in such a short time which challenges me to be better every session. As we look ahead to 2025 our goal is to create a style of play that allows us to get the best from our players, whilst challenging them to keep learning and improving. Once the team fully understands the plan and are giving us maximum effort, then the performance will follow, and the by-product of high performance consistency is success.”
