Morley Windmills Soccer Club welcomes junior players from the year they turn 6.

MiniRoos Clusters: For ages 5-7

Training will commence mid-February on Thursday evenings 5:30 – 6:30pm.

Under 6 & 7 teams play 4-a-side games with no goalkeeper and a maximum of 3 interchangeable substitutes.

Duration of games is 20 min halves with a minimum 5 minute half time break.

Games are played on Sunday mornings, April through to September.

Game venues and times are to be advised once fixtures are released from Football West close to season commencement.

Morley Windmills Juniors

MiniRoos: For ages 8-11

Training will commence mid-February and involves two training sessions per week.  Further information on training times and games dates will be provided after registration approval.

Under 8 & 9 teams play 7-a-side games (including a goalkeeper) and a maximum of 4 interchangeable substitutes. Their duration of games is 20 min halves with a minimum 5 minute half time break.

Under 10,11 & 12 teams play 9-a-side games (including a goalkeeper) and a maximum of five interchangeable substitutes. Their duration of games is 25 min halves with a minimum 5 minute half time break.

Games are played on Sunday mornings, April through to September.  Game venues and times are to be advised once fixtures are released from Football West close to season commencement.

Junior League: For ages 12-16

Training will commence mid-February and involves two training sessions per week.  Further information on training times and games dates will be provided after registration approval.

All junior league teams play 11-a-side games on a full sized pitch with a maximum of 5 interchangeable substitutes.

These are the Game durations (with a minimum 5 minute half time break) :

  • Under 13s & 14s – 30 minute halves
  • Under 15s – 35 minute halves
  • Under 16s – 40 minute halves
  • Under 18s – 45 minute halves

Games are played on a Sunday, April through to September. Game venues and times are to be advised once fixtures are released from Football West close to season commencement.

In accordance with the  Football West – Rules of the Game, it is recommended that all junior players play in their correct age group based on their year of birth. Playing up an age group is subject to the approval of the club’s Junior Technical Director and coaching team.

The Morley Windmills Junior Development Program is overseen by Technical Director, Dan Evans.

Dan Evans
Junior Technical Director

Dan Evans is a UEFA A licensed coach with over 25 years of both youth development and semi-pro coaching experience.

Dan has spent years as a contract worker with Football West where he coached regional development teams, talent development squads and led coach education as a certified instructor.

As a first team coach Dan spent time at MUMFC and Swan United where he also founded the academy at MUMFC. In between, he had two stints in the USA where he worked for the Olympic Development Program across two states and coached the Toledo Villa semi-pro team and Lourdes University Women’s program as well as ran two club based academies.

Dan rejoined The Morley Windmills Soccer Club in late 2023 from UWANFC having both coached and played for the club previously in the semi-professional ranks.

Together with his Morley portfolio Dan also spends time in the Peel region as Talent Development Officer and runs a Girls only academy called Galaxy Football.
